CHURIDAR - KURTA
Churidars which were almost
synonymous with the golden era of the 60s has made a come back!
Style icons like Asha Parekh, Saira Banu, Mumtaz, Sadhna in their
ultra-tight fitting churidar suits popularized this in their era.
Short kurtas or Knee-length
kameez are very much in style these days. Today’s kurta mantra
revolves around kurtas teamed with churidars giving it that ultimate
“ethnic-chic” look!
The Churidar Suit, also known
as the Churidar Kameez or the Churidar Kurta, is fast becoming one
of the trendiest outfits!! Churidar gets its name from these accumulated
gathers or folds as they resemble churis or bangles.Churidars should
be made in stiff fabrics which have the quality to stand on its
own. Cotton is the best option when it comes to churidar. Silk could
also be considered. If gathers are desired, then its best to stay
away from flowy fabrics such as georgette or chiffon.
